Yosemite Valley
We have traveled in and out of the valley since we were a young
married
couple. We've taken our children there on vacation, visited the
falls, and
walked some of the trails, but every time we venture into this
beautiful
spot the mood is different. The vista changes from sparkling
sunlight to
mist rising from the valley floor, from billowing cumulus clouds
to gray and
ominous overcast. But the grandeur can never be diminished just
because
of the weather, it can only be enhanced.
We know why John Muir loved
this special place and why Ansel Adams could never cease photographing
Yosemite. It was because it always was changing. Loretta and
I have encountered deer, bear, coyote, and many kinds of birdlife
in this wonderful valley.
John Muir once wrote, "No synonym for God is so perfect
as Beauty. Where as seen carving the lines of the mountains with
glaciers, or gathering matter into stars, or planning the movememts
of water, or gardening--still all is beauty." and this is
Yosemite, Beauty.
