
Mallard Ducks (Anas platyrbynchos) are a large
species
of waterfowl with wingspans of three feet. They are a
river and pond duck that feeds by tipping up, to
pull plants from the bottom. A Northern
Hemisphere migrator that build their
nests on high ground near water.
