Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon lives up to its name GRAND, for I have never seen
a vista so large and so awesome as this view from the south rim of the
canyon. It was September when we arrived at the canyon, after a trip
to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in the most southern part of
Arizona where it was warm. I was excited to finally be at the canyon
and daylight was fading fast. I jumped from the camper with camera
in hand hoping to catch the evening glow over the vista which lay before
me. Loretta followed with her camera and all I could hear for a few
minutes was the whurr of motor drives and camera shutters. When
suddenly I could hear Loretta, who was only a few feet away from me,
softly crying. I asked her what was the matter and she told me through
her tears, "my hands are so cold I can't feel my fingers anymore". After
I found her gloves and she got her fingers warmed up again, we
had a great time taking pictures around the most awesome place in our country.
