Cactus Mouse (Peromyscus eremicus)

A dweller of Southwestern U.S. and Northern Mexico. This
little creature of the desert belongs to the most numerous
species of all mammals, the rodent family or Gnawing Mammals.
They represent more than half of the living species of mammals
to have been identified by man. The order Rodentia are easily
identified by their two upper and lower incisors which continue
to grow throughout their lives. The beaver is a well known member
of the rodent family along with squirrels, chipmunks, woodchucks
and prairie dogs. The largest member of this family is the South
